Stay Forever - this is a home from home

Where do I start?
We have been here in 2004, 2005 and 2007 we like it that
much. The house itself is large and equipped with
everything you need. The garden is massive and totally
enclosed if you close the gate to the road, so your kids
can charge around to their hearts content in safety.
You will need a car, no ifs buts or maybes on this score
because it is rurally located. If you are after the high
life with lots of bars, clubs etc on your doorstep, go
somewhere else unless one of you is prepared to drive to
Nice.
If you are looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful
area then this is the place for you.
If you don't speak French don't worry, the owner speaks
brilliant English although he will likely be out of
France but unless things have changed since we were last
there, the owners local representative Serge lives about
15 minutes away and can be telephoned if you do have any
questions or problems and he does speak English well
enough to converse with him and he is a nice guy!
The POOL, well what can I say, it is plenty big enough
and very inviting being right next to the covered patio
where you can dine outside at the very big patio table.
Supermarkets - there is an enormous Le Clerc's about a
ten minute drive away. Be warned the French have done
away with plastic bags so go equipped to carry your
purchases away.
If you are into wine, well you're in France, but on the
way to Le Clerc's there is a shop on the left of the
road that sells its own locally produced wine straight
from stainless steel vats at very attractive
prices..can't remember the name but you can't miss it.
Eating out - within short car journeys you will come
across typical French restaurants at the roadside.
The villa - it is a single level house aside from the
bedroom nearest the pool which is accessed from the
living room by three steps down if my memory is correct,
but can also be accessed by a lockable door from the
covered patio. This bedroom is great for kids through to
teenagers and the separate shower room is accessed via
this room.
The main bathroom is next to the two main bedrooms and
has a bath, wash basin and toilet. There is another
separate toilet adjacent to the bathroom.
And in closing....it may just be me but there is nothing
more satifying than wandering around the house closing
the shutters every night.........quintessentially
French!!
